Why is this relevant for our customers?
As a hosting provider i3D.net’s main objective is to safeguard the assets of our customers. We put effort in safeguarding the Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability of our client’s assets. These three aspects are called the CIA triad which form the basis for information security. Where impact on the availability would be directly noticeable, impact on the confidentiality and integrity can have even bigger consequences. Therefore, we started an external process in order to assure we safeguard these assets.
For i3D.net it is important to provide assurance about the security of data processing to all its customers. It is essential to maintain the highest security standards in our industry. Being ISO 27001 certified means that policies and procedures implemented at i3D.net regarding information security processes are managed. This includes all legal, physical and technical controls. This is not only important for our Business customers who need to secure their organizational data, but also for our gaming customers. It is essential we can guarantee secure processing of their data as well as their players’ data.
What is ISO 27001
ISO 27001 is the international standard for the certification of Information Security Management Systems (ISMS). It is an independent non-governmental international organization. Obtaining an ISO certificate shows reliability and security of systems and information. It is published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). This certificate shows that a company is able to identify cyber risks, apply these implications and additionally apply systemized controls to the system in order to limit any damage.
Information Security Management Systems
To support the CIA triad i3D.net has implemented an ISMS based on the ISO 27001. This ISMS consist of a framework of policies and procedures regarding the information security processes of i3D.net. Most important of the ISMS is that we have included all our internal as well as external processes. The i3D.net ISMS applies to the whole organization which operates from its head office in Capelle aan den IJssel, The Netherlands. This includes all services offered by i3D.net which are Managed Hosting, Network services, Dedicated servers, Colocation, Backup, Cloud services, Webhosting, Private game servers and Voice servers.
Starting this year our ISMS has been thoroughly externally audited by the British Standards Institution (BSI). Their objective findings on the ISMS were positive and resulted in them issuing an ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certificate for i3D.net. The performance of the ISMS will be evaluated each year during an annual surveillance audit to ensure the quality of the system based on the requirements of the ISO standard. Within this audit the continual improvement of the ISMS will be covered as well as all the elements covered in the original audit to ensure that the systems and processes are operating as specified and producing the correct outcomes.
