i3D.net is a leading provider of high-performance, low-latency hosting through a vast, privately-owned global network. In 2002 we set out to improve online experiences for gamers. Today, we translate our hosting innovations to various industries, but gaming is still in our DNA. And as of 2019, we are part of the Ubisoft family!
As game sector veterans, we know what it takes for a network to withstand heavy demands. We build out our network presence in data centers across the globe – from Madrid to Johannesburg, Amsterdam to Seattle, and everything in between – bringing content closer to the users. And year on year, we continue to expand faster than ever, keeping some of the world’s biggest games and VoIP providers online, and their users connected.
Our team works hard on everything related to running our privately owned premium network, from opening new points-of-presence, setting up peering relationships, developing integral products like anti-DDoS protection, and serving our customers with expert help and advice.
We’re always trying to reach the next level. Whether that’s as a business, or in a video game. And we encourage our team to do the same. Our company culture fosters an atmosphere of independent thought and self-reliance, based on mutual trust. Finally, we play even harder, in our office gym and bar, and with our lifetime access to Ubisoft games.

In 2019 we teamed-up with Ubisoft, a leading creator, publisher, and distributor of interactive entertainment and services. Ubisoft has a rich portfolio of world-renowned brands, and leading–edge online experiences that engage players over many years.
We’re thrilled to collaborate on expanding the i3D.net network and infrastructure, bringing Ubisoft even closer to their users. Through this partnership, we can enrich the experiences of millions more gamers worldwide, whilst remaining an autonomous entity and continuing to serve our customers.
Online multi-player titles and ever-growing game sizes demanded low-latency, high performance, and fast delivery times. By 2009, it was time to put down our roots. Our hardware, specializing in high performance, needed an environment that was under our full control.
Together with data center expert Richard Boogaard, i3D.net built a data center in the Van Nelle Factory in Rotterdam. Today, it is one of the largest in the region, connecting with multiple Tier-1 in-house carriers and major IXPs.
With Smartdc you are always online. Our strong focus on performance ensures companies are online 24/7. Smartdc is all about quality and uptime and is a true reflection of the Rotterdam culture: reliable and no-nonsense. The Rotterdam datacenter is the largest one in the Zuid-Holland province with its 3500 square meters surface.
