Why your role matters

As the People Operations Manager, you’ll lead our People Operations team, ensuring the smooth flow of everything people-related, from payroll to benefits to employee lifecycle management. You’ll be the go-to person for transforming big-picture People strategies into actionable steps that keep things running efficiently across multiple countries. 

You’ll report directly to the Chief People Officer (CPO) and guide a team of People    Operations (3), helping to build and refine People processes that work for both global and local needs. This role is a great fit for someone who thrives in fast-paced, change-driven environments—whether it’s scaling, mergers, or navigating cultural and legal nuances. 

In this position, you’ll drive operational excellence, improve workflows, and make sure everything is aligned with our mission, all while fostering strong, lasting relationships with teams across the business. Key Responsibilities 
  • Team Leadership: Guide and lead the People Operations team, ensuring smooth day-to-day support across the employee lifecycle.
  • Strategy: Work with the CPO and People Business Partners to create and roll out a global People Operations strategy.
  • Operations: Oversee key People processes like onboarding, offboarding, and relocations to deliver a great employee experience.
  • Systems: Optimize our People Management System (“Personio”) to enable self-service tools, ticketing systems, and smooth recurring programs like performance reviews.
  • Process Improvement: Simplify and align People processes with teams like Talent Acquisition, and Finance for consistency and scalability.
  • Culture: Build a positive, proactive culture that boosts engagement and retention across all locations.
  • Compliance: Ensure People practices meet local and global laws, keeping records secure and processes compliant.
  • Data: Keep People data accurate with regular audits and high standards of confidentiality.
  • Scalability: Create solutions to support business growth, such as partnering with Professional Employer Organisations (PEOs) or using contractor models, ensuring they meet both employee and business requirements.
  • Collaboration: Build strong relationships across i3D.net and with our parent company Ubisoft to ensure alignment on People initiatives.

  • You’ve built great relationships with teams across i3D.net and Ubisoft, making collaboration easy and effective.

Your profile

  • Experience: 8+ years of progressive experience in HR/People role, with a proven track record of managing and optimizing HR/People operations. At least 2 years of managerial experience, with a focus on people development and team leadership.
  • Operational Focus: Strong experience in HR/People operations, particularly in payroll preparation, benefits administration, and the full employee lifecycle.
  • Change Management: Experience working in a fast-paced, evolving environment (scaling, pivots, mergers/acquisitions) and thriving in change.
  • International Experience: Comfortable working with global teams and managing local nuances, including differing legal and cultural landscapes. Familiarity with international payroll and compliance is a plus.
  • Self-Starter: You are resourceful, a problem solver, and have the ability to independently find answers and solutions when faced with ambiguity.
  • People Strategy & Execution: A combination of operational experience and strategic thinking, with the ability to contribute to both the day-to-day People operations and the long-term people strategy.
  • Communication: Fluent in English, with strong communication skills to manage relationships at all levels, including with senior management and the CPO.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with EU employment laws, including Dutch legislation and the 30% ruling, is beneficial.
  • Remote vs Onsite: This is a hybrid role, so you'll spend some time working onsite at our Rotterdam office. If you're already in the Netherlands, great! If not, we're happy to support your move with our relocation services (a valid EU work permit is required).
