Five i3D.net laptops will find their way into the hands of Dutch children to help them keep up with their education.
Last week we donated our old hardware to SNEW, a computer refurbishment company from Brabant. SNEW voluntarily collects and refurbishes written-off laptops and tablets from businesses and donates them to children at home without a computer.
The corona crisis forced education to move from the classroom to the living room. However, in many households, none or only one computer is available, leaving some children unable to take part in classes. It's estimated that at least 10,000 children are in this situation and may fall behind at school.
While coronavirus measures have eased up and schools are open again, there may be long-lasting effects on the future of education. As a technology company that prioritizes education and development, we believe that no child should be left behind.
